30th Anniversary Exhibition
Gallery and Invited Artists in conjunction with 2007 Dublin Culture Night Reception: 6-10pm Friday 19 September continues until 4 October 2008
This year, we are delighted to be celebrating Oisín Gallery’s 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the gallery will be hosting a 30th Anniversary Exhibition, held in conjunction with this year's Dublin Culture Night on Friday 19 September.
The exhibition will comprise 30 artworks: one from each of the 30 selected gallery and invited artists to celebrate our 30 years in business.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Deirdre Purcell, author.
Exhibition opens at 6pm, continuing until 10pm.
Click here to join the Guest List.Oisín Gallery - A Brief History: Oisín Gallery first opened its doors in Clontarf in 1978. In the early 1980’s, the gallery moved to a 550 square foot space in suburban Fairview on the city’s north side, whilst continuing to run its successful custom-framing business in Baldoyle. In 1990, the gallery moved to its present location on Westland Row, in the heart of Dublin’s gallery and museum district.
The gallery’s priority has been to encourage and launch the careers of many established & emerging talents. Today, the gallery represents over 30 Irish contemporary artists, including Ronan Goti, Katy Simpson, Katherine Liddy, Christine Bowen, Owen Rohu, together with many international contemporary artists, such as Maya Kulenovic (Canada), Stephanie Rew (Scotland), Sarah Harvey and Chris Stevens (both UK); whilst also dealing in significant Irish paintings and sculpture by artists such as Louis le Brocquy HRHA, John Behan RHA, Cecil Maguire, John Skelton & Liam O’Neill. Today, the gallery represents over 40 Irish and International contemporary artists.
