Radek Rola was born in Poland in 1979 and originally acquired a Master Degree in Business Management. But feeling inspired by the life’s work of his grandfather, a well known Polish painter, Radek switched his focus and began to pursue art.
Using a characteristically dark acrylic palette with deep shadows, Radek captures unique and often bewildering facial expressions. His productions call into play the history of the female gaze; the subjects of his paintings seem to contain secrets or hidden knowledge. Ultimately, his portraits are interrogations of the human condition.
“My aim, as ever, is to fully engage people in this process by hopefully creating strong and lasting images. Undistorted shapes which are deeply emotional and symbolic.”
Radek exhibits regularly in and around Dublin and his art can be found in many leading Irish galleries as well as private collections.
